Progress in AI opens up new opportunities to improve the lives of people around the world, but it also raises questions about how to build fairness, explainability, privacy, sustainability and accessibility into these systems. Many researchers and practitioners are working on the formulation of frameworks and recommended practices for Responsible AI. Based on practical examples, this course discusses current approaches towards a human-centric and responsible development of artificial intelligence and adresses the often challenging tension between innovation and regulation.
