Ziele |
(*)Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to
- identify major political actors and institutions and assess their behaviour and interests
- develop policy strategies that allow for insights into how to address and tackle transformation in selected policy areas
- take a position on how to explain policy strategies of transformative changes

(*)This course will introduce the key actors, institutions and stages of the policy process and will explore different policy strategies that can be used to achieve and tackle transformative change. Students will learn how institutions are affected by and can enable transformation processes and theories that allow to analyse and explain policy processes including agenda-setting, policy-making, policy implementation and evaluation. We will analyse and discuss policy strategies in policy areas and transformation processes such as demographic changes, climate crisis, digitalisation and transformation of democracies.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will understand
- essential elements of policy strategies
- how policy processes are structured
- the interplay of social, political and institutional factors that influence policy strategies
- how to make policy recommendations
