Bachelorstudium Transformation Studies. Art x Science 2024W |
Ziele |
(*)The history of science is a history of transformations — transformations of our views of what the world is like, i.e., our ‘worldviews’. The main goal of this course is to familiarise students with the most important instances of these transformations such as the Copernican revolution or the acceptance of the principles of evolution in biology, to understand what factors drive these transformations, whether these changes can be regarded as ‘rational’ (as opposed to determined by social, political and cultural factors), and whether any lessons can be learned from them for the proper conduct and efficient organisation of science.
