Objectives |
Economics and Business Management Studies are perceived as value-neutral sciences, however, empiric research shows that inequalities persist in Organizations and is systemic in organizational structures and processes. The course should enable students to critically analyse modern management models and their impact (within the organization and transcending its boundaries) and implement genderjust alternatives in business practice.
|
Subject |
The course will give an overview of the research as well as show central research questions in Gender Studies in Business and Management Studies. The course analyses these patterns and discusses genderjust alternatives in Management. Gender will be discussed in the areas of organization, leadership, HRM, Marketing, finance, controlling as well as entrepreneurship, negotiation and internationalization. In all this areas gender as a categorie is visible, but the discourse between Gender Studies and Business & Management Studies enable alternatives - nondiscriminatory and genderjust alternatives.
|
Criteria for evaluation |
The course is a literature seminar. Students actively analyse the texts (see KUSSS), reflect upon them, discuss them in the course and develop the topics. This should lead to a scientific paper, developing one of the discussed areas of research.
