| Objectives |
Introduction to problems, methods and results of economic, social and environmental history from a cultural studies perspective

| Subject |
Economic, social and environmental history topics are developed from a cultural studies perspective (with regard to special discourses, communication media, everyday practice, etc.). Overarching cross-sections and longitudinal sections that deal with structural conditions and consequences are complemented by exemplary case studies that show the scope of thought and action of actors. Historical accounts are reflected upon in terms of underlying epistemological interests, methods and theories as well as their relevance to the present.
