Lehrinhalte |
(*)Human beings and artificial intelligence-based systems both will increasingly form integral parts of our society. And, society expects all participants in everyday life to act in conformity to the rule of law, ethically adequate, and fair. Not only human beings, but also AIs will be expected to act in compliance to the laws. The more important the compliance expectation is, the more likely it is protected by criminal law which addresses human beings and legal entities but is not adjusted to AIs. Concurrently AI might challenge the status quo of regulations as they are, and AI will influence laws’ development, and thus will have further impact on the society. Hence, the interaction and translation between AIs and the legal norms and ethical principles constituting the basis of our society is of utmost importance, and will be explored during this lecture. Recent fields of research and discussion, amongst it autonomous driving, will be used as reference fields for the legal preconditions and challenges from the perspective of criminal law, legal philosophy and ethics to, and by digitalization.
