Detailed information |
Original study plan |
Master's programme Physics 2023W |
Objectives |
The specialized lab course on surface and nanoanalytics serves as preparation for an experimental MSc. thesis at the Center of Surface and Nanoanalytics (ZONA).
For a theoretical thesis the alternative course is the "Theoretikum".
Within this lab course the candidate is requested to work 2 weeks full time at two different analysis systems at ZONA, supervised by different lecturers.
|
Subject |
The candidate should learn and become familiar with two of the following experimental techniques (in winter term 2012):
a) Scanning Auger electron spectroscopy b) X-ray (UPS) photoelectron spectroscopy c) Spectroscopic ellipsometry and modelling optical data d) Nonlinear optical measurements (second harmonic, sum frequency) e) Transmission electron microscopy and sample preparation f) Scanning electron microscopy and foucsed ion beam sample preparation g) Ion implantation h) Electrochemical (in-situ) scanning tunneling microscopy.
