Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Technical Physics 2024W
Objectives Based on the introductory course on biophysics, this course delves deeper into the structure and mechanical properties of biological and living systems. It will develop an understanding of these systems from the molecular scale up to tissues. Students will acquire a profound understanding of the principles governing the behavior of biological and living matter and gain insight into experimental techniques used to investigate these systems across different scales.
Subject Biopolymers, thermodynamics and kinetics of molecular interactions, effect of forces on molecular interactions, protein mechanics, viscoelasticity, cytoskeleton, molecular motors, cell mechanics, cell adhesion and migration, force generation and mechanosensing in biological systems, mechanical properties of tissues, mechanical regulation processes in mammalian, plant and bacterial cells
