Detailed information
Pre-requisites Electron Microscopy I
Original study plan Master's programme Joint Master Programme Biological Chemistry 2015W
Objectives Advanced course in electron microscopy. To obtain practical experience in advanced electron microscopy.
Subject Immuno-electron microscopy with traced and untraced antibodies and their applications.

Kryomethods in biological electron microscopy. Electron tomography. Visualisation of biological macromolecules. Autoradiography. Picture analysis, 3D reconstruction in electron microscopy. Morphometry and stereology. Electron microanalysis (quality, quantity) biological objects. Correlative microscopy. Electron diffraction and its application in biology. New microscopy techniques (STM, AFM) and their biological applications.

Preparation of ultrathin layers, immunisation markings on cut edges, identifying crystalline structures by electron diffraction, identifying particle size in suspension by SEM, processing measurement results using the ACC program.
