Ziele (*)
  1. Comprehend the Economic and Institutional Context: The goal is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the economic and institutional frameworks that shape technological development and innovation. This includes exploring the links of macroeconomic policies, market dynamics, regulatory environments, and institutional structures and how they interact with technological efforts. Students will learn to analyze and interpret the complex interplay between these macro-contextual factors and technology, enabling them to better understand the challenges and opportunities in driving technological innovation and transformation.
  2. Gain Insights into Technology Diffusion Processes: The course will aim to equip students with a thorough understanding of the processes through which innovative technology is diffused and adopted across different sectors and societies. This includes studying models of innovation and technology diffusion, factors influencing the rate and extent of diffusion, and the roles of various public and private stakeholders in this process. Students will examine case studies and current examples to understand how technologies spread, how adoption barriers are overcome, and the impact of diffusion processes on overall innovation ecosystems.
  3. Understand Socio-Ecological Aspects of Transformation and Innovation: The third objective focuses on imparting knowledge about the socio-ecological implications of technological transformation and innovation and their effects in particular on society and its socio-economic institutions as well as its capacity to cope with ecological and distributional challenges. Students will be prepared to contribute to technology-driven transformations that are aligned with broader societal and ecological goals.
