Objectives The course focuses on understanding the most important concepts of electricity and magnetism. Introduction to the scientific approach and methods of solving problems in physics. Application of these methods to specific physical systems.
Subject Field and potential (gravitation, Coulomb), electrostatics; electric currents; magnetic field, fields of moving charges; magnetostatics; electric and magnetic fields in matter, polarization, induction; alternating current circuits; Maxwell's equations, special theory of relativity, Lorentz transformation of electrodynamic quantities.
Criteria for evaluation written and eventually additional oral examination.
Methods Lecture with demonstration experiments.
