Objectives Understanding the fundamentals of reaction mechanisms and techniques used in the Laboratory Course of Preparative Organic Chemistry 1.
Subject 6 cumulative sections concerning the theoretical background of the tasks in the Laboratory Course of Preparative Organic Chemistry 1

  1. Separation techniques, spectroscopy (in particular NMR), acid/base properties of organic compounds
  2. Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution reactions
  3. Reactions of carbonyl compounds
  4. Addition, elimination, reduction and oxidation reactions
  5. Reactions of aromatic compounds
  6. Rearrangement and pericyclic reactions
Criteria for evaluation 4 Written tests and a final exam.
Methods Lectures, Q/A session, exercises on the black board.
