Objectives |
Students know and understand the analytical and systematic methods for modeling and analyzing linear DC and AC electric circuits and switching operations in linear electric circuits and are able to apply them to arbitrary circuits. They know and understand basic methods for the analysis of simple nonlinear electrical circuits.
Students know and understand Maxwell’s equations in integral and differential version, they can interpret them and apply them to simple problems. They are able to describe causes and effects of electric and magnetic fields qualitatively and mathematically, and to describe electromagnetic waves in homogenous, lossless and source-free media qualitatively and mathematically.
The level of mathematical modeling and analysis of the mentioned topics is similar to that in the textbooks M. Albach, Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik 1 and 2, Pearson Studium, München, 2011
