Objectives |
Knowledge of well-established procedure models and methods of product development incl. modelling and simulation as essential basis for the development of complex, inter-disciplinary systems (products). Ability for practical applications.

- Product development: Products, markets, marketing, product lifecycle (PLC) with emphasis on PLC-phases product planning and product development; methods, procedure models and phases product development phases
- Fundamentals of modelling
- Fundamentals and application of methods and tools for model-based product development (CAD, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Finite Element Methods (FEM), Multi-Body Systems (MBS) etc.)
- Design, dimensioning and lightweight design of parts and structures made of metals, polymers and composite materials
- Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), Life Cycle and Cost Analysis (LCCA) as life cycle assessment of products for sustainable product development along the whole PLC
- Experimental investigation of the behaviour of machine elements using modern measuring equipment
- Application to practical problems
