Objectives Students present the planned dissertation project in detail. They integrate feedback and objections into the written dissertation concept and consequently sharpen their dissertation project in terms of objectives, research questions and methodology.
Subject Detailed oral and written presentation of the dissertation project including the following aspects:

  • objectives of the project;
  • research questions;
  • planned methodology;
  • time schedule;
  • required financial or material resources;
  • required access to research facilities;
  • required vote of the Ethics Committee;
  • members of the respective Theses Advisory Committee (TAC).
Criteria for evaluation Attendance of 80% is mandatory. The confirmation of an initial proposal meeting with the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) has to be submitted. Oral presentation of the dissertation project. Submission of the written dissertation concept, including the integration of the oral feedback to the presentation. For a positive completion, the written dissertation concept has to be submitted to the examination board according to § 6 of the Curriculum. The positive result shall be described as "successful participation", the negative result shall be described as "unsuccessful participation".
