Doctoral programme Medical Sciences 2024W
Objectives
Students will learn what the ecDNAs are and what their function is. Students will perform premature chromosome condensation (PCC) to produce metaphase chromosomes and do DAPI staining to visualize ecDNAs. Students will perform fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) stainings to detect amplified oncogenes on ecDNA in human cancer cells (cell culture practice is optional). Students will prepare slides and observe the staining results using fluorescent microscope
Subject
Knowledge on ecDNA and oncogene amplification; Permature chromosome condensation (PCC); FISH staining; fluorescence microscope imaging
Criteria for evaluation
A minimum 75% attendance is required. Students need to write a scientific report describing brief experiment procedures and results (1-2 pages). The positive assessment is "participated successfully", the negative assessment is "participated without success".
Methods
Introduction and supervision of experimental skills in medical teaching laboratory
