Objectives |
After passing this course successfully, students will be able to:
- Understand the application, function and use of technical equipment and Technologies for sensing, detecting, positioning, communication and data collection;
- Understand the role of ITS for improving the Transportation systems;
- Understand and assess the different modes of transportation including intermodal Solutions
- Take into account human behaviour and the way it influences the effect of ITS (HMI, traffic psychology, user needs, behavioural response to ITS)

The performance of Transport systems is of crucial importance for individual mobility, and for the economic growth of all nations. A better transport Management through different technologies and mobility concepts can be achieved for a better utilization of resources. This intensive course describes electronic technologies and data collection methods to make a better use of the civil infrastructure and making transportation systems safe, efficient reliable and environmentally friendly. It also covers human behaviour and the way it influences the effect of ITS
