Special Competence in Business Sciences can be acquired from choosing a major field of study. As part of the focus, students have to choose courses in one or more of the following options with a minimum amount of 12 ECTS or 6 ECTS:
(a) Specialist choice of courses:
For the subject, courses from only one subject in the following list with a minimum amount of 12, 18 or 24 ECTS points must be completed. Variant (a) can be chosen twice for different subjects, each 12 ECTS. The final certificate includes the text “Special Competence in Business Sciences – X”. The synonym “X” describes the subject from which the courses where selected.

(b) Free combination of courses: By choice of 6 or 12 ECTS of compulsory or elective courses of the master program "General Management" or the subjects of § 7 (2) (a). Variant (b) can be selected only once and is designed as subject "Special Competence in Business Sciences - Selected Topics in Business Sciences (Master)". The election in the amount of 6 ECTS is only allowed, if another subject of (a) or the subject "Selected Topics in Business Sciences (Master, Abroad)" (see § 3) is selected or when the program is completed with a major field of study.
(c) Thematically balanced combination of courses, according to establishing a major field of study: By choice of courses according to the specifications of a major field of study according to § 9 for subject "Special Competence in Business Sciences", if the study is to be completed with this major field of study.
Variant (c) is listed in the final certificate with the text “Special Competence in Business Sciences – major field of study.
