Students understand economic effects of taxes, minimum wages and active labor market policies on labor market participation, employment and unemployment. They learn about differences in labor market institutions and policies of industrialized countries. They are familiar with economic models of migration and the empirical literature. Students learn how to apply economic theory and econometric techniques to examine policy questions in these areas.
