(*)Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
- differentiate between disruptive and non-disruptive technologies
- distinguish key phases of disruption that shaped business, society, and our planet
- analyze socio-technical systems and their (sustainable) transitions
- deconstruct the institutional complexity surrounding socio-technical transitions

- What characteristics disruptive technologies have and under which conditions they emerge
- What disruptive technologies have shaped the path of humankind
- How socio-technical systems evolve and what role public, private, civic and nongovernmental collective actors play in shaping that evolution
- How institutional embeddedness influences the evolution of disruptive technologies
