Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Mechatronics 2023W
Objectives This lecture presents the main fundamentals within the theory of materials (micro-structure, properties, areas of use) for technical applications in the field of mechatronics and mechanical engineering. The fundamentals are built upon basic principles of natural science (physics, chemistry) in order to demonstrate cross-links and foster deeper understanding. Thus, the lecture features a multidisciplinary approach.
Subject
  • Basics of metallic materials and allyoing with related to materials for mechanical and electrical engineering (electr. conductors and magnets)
  • Production and further processing of metals
  • Destructive and nondistructive testing
  • Ferrous materials
  • Non-ferrous materials, organic materials
  • Plastic materials, electrical conductors and magnetic materials
