Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Mechatronics 2023W
Objectives This compact, application-oriented course provides an introduction to the numerical stress analysis and strength assessment of lightweight structures using the Finite Element Method.
Subject Introduction to the theoretical formulation of the Finite Element (FE) method; FE element types; FE analysis types (static and dynamic analysis, Eigen-value analysis, linear and nonlinear analysis); important topics of FE analysis (convergence, element selection, stress singularities); introduction to the operation of a FE program (Abaqus); calculation of various example problems.
Criteria for evaluation individual project
Methods Independent working with at the computer with the FE program Abaqus. As lecture notes the PowerPoint-slides are provided. Additional explanations are carried out at the black board.
Language English
Study material Documentation of the FE program Abaqus (Getting Started, CAE User Guide, Analysis User Guide) / R.
