Detailed information |
Original study plan |
Master's programme Polymer Technologies and Science (PTS) 2015W |
Objectives |
To practice finite element based dimensioning of characteristic polymeric components.
|
Subject |
Case studies are prepared for the six classes of the components described and discussed in the lecture. Finite element simulations are performed to determine the stress state in these components considering the inherent temperature dependence of the mechanical material behavior. Special focus is given to the strength analysis for various loading modes and for various material behavior.

Criteria for evaluation |
homework and written exam
|
Methods |
short introduction to the finite element methods, conduction of model simulations based on selected case studies, report of the conducted simulations.
