Objectives By implementing and analyzing a digital communication system in Matlab/Python, students will have an in-depth understanding of the blocks of a digital communication system that were theoretically covered in the lecture.
Subject Implementation and analysis of a digital communication system in Matlab/Python with the following focus:

  • Symbol mapping/demapping
  • Pulse shaping
  • Optimal receiver (Viterbi algorithm)
  • Equalizer
  • Evaluation of the error performance
  • Illustration and analysis of the constellation and eye diagram
  • Extension to a multi-antenna communication system
