Ziele (*)Students understand the concepts and requirements of a stable server infrastructure. Students have the (basic) skills to setup and work with common services. Students realize that reliability, availability and "least privilege" are essential to successful System Administration.

  • Storage Management
  • Recovery & Backup
  • Service Planning
  • Selected Services (e.g. ADS, DNS, HTTP(S), SMTP(S), …)
  • Virtualization
  • Infrastructure as Code.

These topics are presented as an overview. A selected set is also practiced in the hands-on labs.

Beurteilungskriterien (*)Grading is based on participation in lectures and lab exercises, the oral presentation of example scenarios and a final written examination. To pass the course, students must successfully pass all three sections.
Lehrmethoden (*)Lecture including discussions as well as accompanying practical lab exercises; Students prepare and present a final example scenario.
