Pre-requisites Positive completion of courses within the bachelor curriculum at JKU in the extent of at least 60 ECTs including positive completion of Lab Course in Analytical Chemistry.

Objectives Composition and presentation of a Bachelor's Thesis.
Subject The course is an administrative “container” for the Bachelor thesis experimental or practical work, its documentation and its presentation before the examiners. It includes but is not limited to: Literature study, preparation, safety protocols, and in-depth participation in a research project, with details depending on the particular topic. Usually it comprises experimental laboratory work, frequent exchange and feedback sessions with the supervisor, documentation of laboratory procedures, writing of the thesis and presentation. Each step normally involves individual supervision by the supervisors and his or her research team.
Criteria for evaluation Quality of the experimental work, quality of the written thesis, performance of the presentation.
Methods Experimental laboratory work, protocolation, writing of the thesis and presentation, each with individual supervision.
Language English
Study material Literature is distributed by each supervisor to their respective student(-s) and is relevant to the particular topic. The literature for each Bachelor thesis is different and depends on the topic and the state of the art which is continuously progressing.
