Objectives This course provides insights into wireless transmission systems from a theoretical and practical perspective.

The course is a combined course (KV) and consists of a lecture and practical part. In the lecture part, the theoretical basics of wireless transmission systems are discussed. In particular, various modulation and coding schemes as well as radio frequency component (e.g., mixers and oscillators) are introduced. In the practical part, a wireless transmission system will be implemented and analyzed using Software Defined Radio (https://tinyurl.com/sdrusrp) and the eLITe-Board (https://tinyurl.com/eliteboard).

Students know and understand theoretical basics of wireless communication systems (modulation, coding, RF-components like mixers and oscillators). They are able to apply this knowledge to implement a software-defined-radio-based wireless transmission system.
