Ziele (*)Students are familiar with the principles of research in information system and the research process. They have acquired an understanding of different research methods in Information Systems (quantitative, qualitative, formal, and design methods) and can choose the appropriate method(s) to tackle a given research problem or question. After the course students will be able to perform design science research (DSR). They understand the different DSR process models and its activities and can develop a DSR process for their own DSR project. They know and can apply relevant methods and techniques for the development and description of design artifacts. The know the criteria necessary for the evaluation of DSR artifacts, understand the various DSR evaluation techniques, and can select and apply the most effective evaluation techniques for a DSR project.
Lehrinhalte (*)Information Systems Research: principles of scientific inquiry, research process, research methods (quantitative, qualitative, formal, design), publishing research. Design Science Methodology: Design Cycle (Artifacts, Design and Specification, Implementation, Validation and Evaluation); Stakeholder and Goal Analysis (Stakeholders, Desires and Goals, Desires and Conflicts); Implementation Evaluation and Validation (Observational Case Studies, Single Case Mechanism Experiments, Statistical Difference Making Experiments, Technical Action Research).
