Objectives The students have skills necessary for understanding relationships between gender and society. The course's aim is to enable the students to critically reflect the interrelations and intersections of gender with other social aspects and to use these perspectives for research.
Subject This course provides students with in-depth knowledge into gender theories and gender policies. The specific policy field or substantive focus of attention of this course is variable but based on a gender perspective. Students develop a common understanding of the concept of gender and the contemporary debate on that concept. This course focuses in general on contemporary developments concerning social ideas, society, employment, the family or another societal focus. In addition, the course is taking into concern the concept of intersectionality.
Criteria for evaluation Active participation during the Intensive Programme and/or in Moodle on-line learning environment, written assignments.
Methods Introductory lectures during Intensive Programme, afterwards on-line learning methods supported by Moodle OR a course organized fully on-line in Moodle learning environment without a face-to-face introduction.
