| Ziele |
(*)Learn about the differences in labor market policies of industrialized countries; Develop an economic understanding of the impact of taxes, minimum wages, and active labor market policies on employment, unemployment, and labor market participation; Review facts about (national and international) migration flows and learn how labor markets adjust to migration; Study empirically the effects of various labor market policies and critically assess which policies are suitable for achieving desired labor market outcomes.

| Lehrmethoden |
(*)For each subject, we begin with an overview of international key statistics, focussing on differences and similarities across countries. Subsequently, we discuss economic principles that are relevant for the design of public policies. Finally, we will discuss empirical evidence about the effects of various public policies on aggregate labor market outcomes.
