Objectives The students have knowledge of the basic technologies and methods related to digitalization. Thus, they are able to apply digital systems in their own working context. They know the building blocks and functionality of information and communication technology (ICT) and computer networks. Based on a general understanding regarding office software, they can apply their knowledge to solve typical challenges, independent from the actual product. They can apply office software. The students know, how to transfer their knowledge to other software products and similar challenges. They are able to understand and evaluate data and process models. They have knowledge for designing database queries, apply them appropriately and analyze the results.
Subject The students have knowledge of the building blocks and functionality of hardware and software, information and communication technology (ICT), application and adoption of office software, documentation and collaboration on the Internet, basics of computer networks, operation systems and database management systems, data model (structured: ER/ UML, relational, semi-structured, document-oriented: XML etc.) process models (BPMN, EPC), basic relational database queries and analysis (SQL, SQL-based OLAP), information security and data protection, societal (Digital Corporate Responsibility) and legal issues (digital rights management, intellectual property, software and digital media)
