Objectives Advanced use and extension of the statistical software environment R as well as basic knowledge of a software package for symbolic computing (Mathematica).
Subject Different aspects of the language S and its dialect R, advanced graphics; statistical modeling and simulations; introduction to a software package for symbolic computing (Mathematica) and into literate programming.
Criteria for evaluation Home work assignments and written project report
Methods Lecture by instructor; Discussion of the homework assignments by the students; Independent programming of statistical analysis methods
