Objectives The course supplies the mathematical background for the bachelor statistics curriculum.
Subject Integration: Definition of the Riemann integral; Indefinite integral, Fundamental Theorem of Calculus; Integration by parts, substitutions; Improper integrals, Comparison Theorem; Integral Test for series;
Linear algebra: Classical vectors; Systems of linear equations; Matrices, inverse of a matrix; Determinant of a matrix; Vector spaces, linear hull, linear independence, basis of a vector space; Linear transformations; Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalization;
Functions of several variables: Domain, range, level sets, graph; Partial derivatives, gradient, directional derivative; Tangent plane; Extreme values with or without constraints; Multiple integrals, evaluation by an iterated integral;
