Objectives To gain basic knowledge on the fundamentals of empirical work in medical research and life sciences. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is an internationally recognized standard for the conduct of human clinical trials. The creation of uniform, binding rules for the European Union, Japan and the USA ensures patient safety in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and contributes to the recognition of clinical data at the international level.

To give an overview of the Austrian and the international research funding landscape in medicine-related fields and to provide the basics of project submission from the creation of a research concept to the application.

Subject GSP: Declaration of Helsinki, GCP guidelines - guidelines and terms, legal basis: AMG, MPG, GCP-V, responsibilities of the investigator, responsibilities of the sponsor, reporting obligations, audits and inspections, case studies, CRF exercise
