Objectives Get in touch with elementary concepts, terms, definitions and assumptions of electrodynamics, understanding the mathematical and logical construction of this theory and how it is applied to specific physical systems.
Subject General theory of electro-magnetic fields in vacuum
a) Maxwell-Lorentz equations, potentials, gauge conditions, energy and momentum of the field
b) Special cases: electro-statics, magneto-statics, wave equation
c) Outlook: field of arbitrary moving point charges
Criteria for evaluation written and eventually additional oral examination.

Study material will be specified during the lecture.
