Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Mechatronics 2022W
Objectives Understanding the fundamental laws of electromagnetic fields and their relation to problems found in electrical engineering. The level of mathematical modeling and analysis of the mentioned topics is similar to that in the textbooks Leuchtmann, Einführung in die elektromagnetische Feldtheorie and Griffiths, Elektrodynamik (beide Pearson).
Subject
  • Electrostatic and Magnetostatic Fields
  • Quasistationary Fields (Inductors, Capacitors)
  • Elementary Field Theory
  • Basic Electrodynamics
  • Basic electric network theory
  • Electromagnetic Waves
Criteria for evaluation Written examination including theory and calculations, subsequent oral exam (if written examination has been passed). The final grade will be awarded based on the results of both examinations.
Methods Lecture with handout/sheets.
