Objectives
Knowledge of power semiconductor devices and power electronic circuits
Subject
This course treats the construction and application of the most common semiconductor devices. The lecture covers following topics:
physical fundamentals of semiconductor technology
construction of semiconductors
external circuitry for driving and protection of semiconductors
cooling and heat transfer
uncontrolled and phase-controlled rectifiers
line-commutated converters
self-commutated inverters
