Objectives The aim of the course group "Computational Engineering Sciences" is to gain more insight into the mathematical foundations, mathematical models and appropriate numerical methods and techniques for computational fluid mechanics and for computational solid mechanics. In addition to these courses, courses for general and visualization related programming techniques are offered. Special focus is given to deepen and strengthen the knowledge’s of the students in the field of finite element methods and their practical engineering applications in various fields.
Subject The elective subject "Computational Engineering Sciences" contains the following sub-groups of courses.

• Mathematics
• Numerical methods and modelling techniques
• Software engineering and computer vision
• Fluid mechanics modelling and simulation
• Solid mechanics modelling and simulation
