Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Mechanical Engineering 2022W
Objectives Students know and understand the significance of experimentally determined strength values and can use them to independently apply basic analytical methods of strength assessment. Without assistance they are able (1) to analyze simple, mechanically loaded structural elements to determine whether the imposed static and dynamic loads are endured, and (2) to design structural elements so that no fracture and no damage due to deformation occur.
Subject Selected examples on material behavior and constitutive laws, deformation analysis and stress analysis, fatigue strength analysis, fracture mechanics, and stability analysis are elaborated.
Criteria for evaluation Attendance and participation; homework; written test
Methods Detailed presentation on the blackboard and own elaboration of calculation examples
