Objectives This course is designed to help students

  • practice oral communication skills which are important in business contexts
  • read and discuss different types of texts which are important in business contexts
  • produce different types of texts which are important in business contexts
  • develop and practice the social skills necessary to work in a team
  • be able to deal with complex information in various forms and texts
  • develop and improve research capabilities
  • develop and improve informal presentation abilities
  • reach the language level defined by the curriculum

Criteria for evaluation
  • 80% attendance
  • active participation in class and groups activities
  • individual report (1 page abstract and bibliography) and presentation (30 min.)
  • group project executive summary (3 pages including Business Plan abstract, report, and bibliography) and presentation
  • in-class assessment (1.5 hours)
  • course portfolio
  • final interview

The final grade will be based on an evaluation of the oral (50%) and written work (50%) produced individually and in groups and of test results. Both oral and written work must be positive.
