Objectives |
Students have detailed knowledge on legal aspects related to Business Informatics. They are able to deal with basic legal problems associated with their field and solve simple cases on their own. They are able to evaluate various technical and organizational alternative solutions regarding their legal implications and, together with legal experts, implement legally compliant solutions.

Legal aspects of IT systems; copyright regulations regarding commercial software, open source software, and databases; software patents; legal problems associated with web-based IT systems (domains, multimedia documents, digital signature, e-mail addresses); human resources as IT entity (information freedom vs data protection); legal principles of IT based business models (auction platforms, search engines), e.g. applicable law, country of origin principle.
