This course presents different kinds of information, classifies problems of information integration processes and introduces the most important architectures as well as characteristics of integrated systems. Moreover, methods for semantic integration based on ontologies and knowledge representation languages are explained. Additionally, business applications of integrated information systems are presented. Practical experience is gained by using the methods and applying them in exercises and examples.
