Objectives |
This course is specifically designed for beginning German, Masters in Global Business students who are interested and motivated in speaking and learning about the rich German language, culture and dynamic business environment.

Subject |
There is an emphasis on communicative as well as written skills of the living German language. Vocabulary and pronunciation will be enhanced through visual and auditory means. Dialogue and oral presentations will help students form and develop these skills. For correct usage of the language, a strong grammar foundation will be given through multiple reading, speaking, writing and listening practices. Current German business topics will be discussed and there will be German guest speakers.

Criteria for evaluation |
Attendance 5%, In-class participation 15%, Assignments 20%, Vocabulary tests 15%, Mid-term Exam 20%, Final Exam 25%

Methods |
The course is an interactive, instructor lead class in which students are expected to be prepared to work on the 4 basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and understanding German, in particular, Business German at the Beginner’s level.
