Objectives The student knows global policy frame on sustainable development. S/he understands the connections between human well-being, economics and the environment and identifies local and global issues related to them. He / she is able to look at society from the perspective of sustainable development and has the ability to combine thinking with social policy issues.
Subject The study unit is an introduction to sustainable development from different angles. Topics covered are variable from year to year and include such as the idea of sustainable development, climate change, the circular economy, social sustainability, sustainable community, biodiversity solutions, food or sustainable business.
Criteria for evaluation Active participation during the Intensive Programme and/or in Moodle on-line learning environment, written assignments.
Methods Introductory lectures during Intensive Programme, afterwards on-line learning methods supported by Moodle OR a course organized fully on-line in Moodle learning environment without a face-to-face introduction.
