Ziele (*)The courses in this section qualify students to critically appraise the theoretical and empirical arguments of comparative welfare state scholarship and enhance their practical skills in working independently with empirical materials and theoretical conceptualisations. They give a first overview over important debates in the field and introduce the relevant theoretical conceptualisations and empirical approaches of internationally comparative social research and in doing so lay the theoretical and conceptual groundwork for comparative welfare state research.
Lehrinhalte (*)For further information please refer to the course contents of the individual classes in this section.
Sonstige Informationen (*)The course "Introduction to the Study of the Politics of Welfare Production" is an independent study class, with an exam in the end. The other classes combine interactive classroom sessions during the intensive phase of the program with independent study during the semester and a number of smaller written assignments.
