Objectives (*)This is an applied class designed to reinforce concepts from open economy macroeconomics. Emphasis is on the application of concepts from international economics and macro-finance.
Subject (*)Topics include interest parity conditions, real exchange rates, links between current and capital accounts, international finance, and the choice between fiscal and monetary policy within the EU. Emphasis is on applied exercises through real data problems and readings.
Criteria for evaluation (*)Grading will be based on:

  • Mid-term examination (30%)
  • Final examination (40%)
  • Class participation, solving exercises and attendance (30%)

TOTAL: 100% - minimum grade to pass: 51%.
