Objectives
  • Understand the main challenges for innovation and creativity in hierarchical organizations
  • Appreciate the role of interorganizational relationships for innovation
  • Understand different forms of interorganizational relations, including strategic alliances, regional clusters or global production networks
  • Understand the role of the institutional environment for innovation
Subject This course will provide an advanced understanding of the main drivers for and barriers of innovation within and across organizations. It will address different levels of analysis with changing foci:

  • Strategic alliances
  • Social and interorganizational networks
  • Regional networks and clusters
  • Communities and crowds
  • Global production networks
  • Institutional environments
