Performing fundamental syntheses and characterisations of organic compounds

Five consecutive sections devoted to particular reaction types
- Separation of organic compounds based on their acid/base properties
- Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution reactions
- Reactions of carbonyl compounds
- Addition, elimination, reduction and oxidation reactions, Rearrangement and pericyclic reactions
- Reactions of aromatic compounds

- Tests on safety issues and preparedness for the practical work
- Practical performance including safe practice
- Documentation of the results obtained (protocols)
- Final comprehensive discussion of individual results

The course is held in parallel to "In-depth Fundamentals of Preparative Organic Chemistry for Biological Chemistry" and the contents of both courses will be closely coordinated. It is highly recommended that the two courses course are attended in the same semester.
