Detailed information |
Original study plan |
Bachelor's programme Chemistry and Chemical Technology 2019W |
Objectives |
The students will gain fundamental knowledge about quantitative calculations from chemical equations and improve their skills in applying stoichiometric laws required for their future practical lab work and further studies in General Chemistry.
|
Subject |
- Dealing with material amounts and compound concentrations
- calculating quantitative relationships among substances as they participate in various chemical reactions and phase transitions
- balancing chemical equations and describing various chemical equilibria in the gas phase and condensed media
|
Criteria for evaluation |
Excercises and written exam.
|
Methods |
This combined lecture type consists of presentations covering the theoretical background and of several student exercises to practise and consolidate the topics treated in the lectures with various calculation examples.
