Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Chemistry and Chemical Technology 2019W
Objectives This course introduces students to a range of mathematical concepts and techniques that form the basis for applications inside and outside chemistry, such as the ones required of students enrolled in Chemistry Bachelor and Master programs. The course provides an introduction to the mathematics. During the tutorial, the application of different mathematical techniques and methods is considered and confirmed by numerous examples. The aim of the course is to provide students with a detailed overview of the major mathematical ideas and methods for solving general and chemistry-related practical problems.
Subject
  1. Series
  2. Vector spaces
  3. Matrices
  4. Functions of several variables
  5. Ordinary differential equations
  6. Partial differential equations
Criteria for evaluation The final grade is based on the written exam at the end of the semester (two exam dates are available in KUSSS)

This exam is worth 100 points. To pass the course, at least 50 points must be reached.
